Preferences on this device
Saved stories, topics, edition and the location-suggestion choice use browser local storage. Edition suggestions use an approximate country and region from the request; this feature does not persist that location in the site database.
Email newsletter
Newsletter delivery remains off until the sending domain is authenticated. When enabled, subscriptions use double opt-in; only the address and message content needed for delivery are shared with the delivery provider, and bounce or complaint events are used to stop further mail. Subscribers can opt out at any time.
Google advertising
Google advertising is currently off. If enabled after account approval, it will be limited to substantive article pages. Where required, a Google-certified consent control will appear before personalized advertising or advertising storage, and users can change or withdraw their choice.
